Cast as Mother was a dramatized reading of the Passing Stage project. A kaleidoscopic anthology of performance taking the audience through 1 ½ years of writing by 13 artists mothers, who wrote anonymously on a range of topics from god to school to parenting to sex to love to the education system and much more.

Some of the women who wrote for the Passing Stage project performed in Cast as Mother. However, not all of the women who wrote, performed. And not all of the people who performed in Cast as Mother were writers of the Passing Stage manuscript.

For one year, 13 women of the stage wrote about their experiences of motherhood, through the lens of theatre. Cast as Mother is a play based on these writings.
